During the past 90 years, PKUPH has vigorously pursued excellence in all that it has done, and today it is nationally renowned for its clinical services, research and teaching excellence, with ten of itsDepartments, including, Hematology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Urology, Dermatology & Venereology, Nephrology and Rheumatology & Immunology receiving top National honours in their field.

 It has 2,396 staff, including a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Dr Lu Daopei.In PKUPH more than 23,680 surgical procedures and over 200,000 radiological examinations are performed each year. It has 1,448 in-patient beds, and admits more than 40,000 inpatients a year. It also receives more than 1,559,000 outpatients, and more than 133,000 emergency cases annually.
